Who are Marcelle&Jane?

We, Marcelle&Jane, would like to introduce ourselves to you.

We are Marcelle&Jane, Interior Design and Art Studio, headed by Julie Avisar and Laura Lellouche. One of the first questions we usually have to answer is; who is Marcelle and who is Jane?

As Julie is from England and Laura from France, the obvious answer would be that Julie is Jane and Laura is Marcelle... But we are Israeli designers first and foremost, rejoicing in our differences and influences; so Julie is Julie, Laura is Laura and Julie and Laura head Marcelle&Jane. Julie and Laura are Marcelle&Jane.

To be a bit more clear (or confusing), we invite you to read the very true genesis of Marcelle&Jane.

Marcelle drew dragonflies and bears, she made the most charming little hats for young girls, hats that could transform a human being into a unicorn or a deer.

Jane was a room waltzer, she was the kind of witch whose pieces of furniture never stopped dancing until they found their perfect place, the place that they felt the most beautiful, the most free and the most useful.

Both of them shared a deep love of creating, many ways of creating.

At dusk, Jane realized that her armchair wouldn`t stop dancing until she gave it a new skin, so she wandered along her favourite pathway in the hope of finding the right tone. That very same dusk, on the same favourite pathway, Marcelle went looking for branches for her royal deer helmet.

And Marcelle met Jane.

The Facebook page is also headed by Julie and Laura who randomly post as either Marcelle or Jane so you can see an interesting discussion between Marcelle&Jane and Marcelle&Jane, how confusing!!! From now on, Marcelle will speak to Jane. I know, I just said there were no Marcelle nor Jane and just Marcelle&Jane but, honestly, who really cares?! Enjoy the ride! Marcelle and Jane
